Feeling underwhelmed by the 17 moisturizers you have stashed under your sink in the bathroom? How about the other five that are three quarters full on your shelf? Same, friend, same.

What is more empowering and fulfilling than creating your very own, custom, whipped, small-batch moisturizer made from scratch? Okay, probably a lot. Nevertheless, it’s super simple, a little bit fun, and you get to choose ingredients based on what matters most to your body. So, if you want a moisturizer that delivers the results you’re looking for, then this is your time to shine!

This is the most challenging, but also the most fun part: choosing your miracle ingredients. Here are the top natural options.

  • Shea Butter – Naturally high in vitamins A, E and F, it is great for dry skin, has a buttery feel and boosts collagen production. They had us at buttery and sealed the deal with collagen production!
  • Sweet Almond Oil – Jam-packed with vitamin E and A, these antioxidants fight free radicals which have an anti-aging effect and keep your pores free and clear!
  • Coconut Oil – Prevents aging, damage to the skin and is antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal. Also hydrating and stimulates collagen production. What doesn’t it do really?
  • Rosehip Oil – Rich in vitamin K and also packed with molecules small enough to reach the deepest layers of your skin, boosting moisture and collagen levels, while also reducing fine lines.
  • Jojoba oil – Mimicking our skin’s natural oils, this oil has anti-inflammatory properties, tames redness and has a calming effect on skin.
  • Lavender Essential Oil – Calming and completely relaxing with an earthy, floral scent.
  • Geranium Essential Oil – A total balancer of hormones and skin with a sweetly floral smell!
  • Myrrh Oil – A woodsy and warm scent that offers UV protection from the sun.

  • 6 tbsp shea butter
  • 2 tbsp sweet almond oil
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp rosehip oil
  • 1 tsp jojoba oil
  • 8 drops lavender oil
  • 15 drops geranium oil
  • 15 drops myrrh oil
  1. Place all ingredients in an aluminum bowl (except your essential oils) and place over a pot half-full of water on low-medium heat. You can totally skip this step, but to make sure your shea butter isn’t grainy, we highly recommend!
  2. Once cooled, add your essential oils and using a hand mixer, whip all ingredients together until smooth!
  3. Place into your tub or jar of choice and seal tightly with a lid.
