CBD has recently become a popular ingredient in skincare and its popularity will increase as it undergoes more research. As with tea tree oil, it acts as an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agent but also balances oil production which helps with acne, blackheads, and controls breakouts.

There are a lot of different derivatives of CBD, including Sativa seed oil, Sativa extract, and cannabidiol, with varying blends and concentrations. Because CBD has gained more popularity, there is a lack of research surrounding the benefits and potential side effects of its derivatives. Cannabidiol is the best ingredient to look for if you are interested in testing out the benefits of CBD for your own skin. This is an isolated CBD, there are no other compounds present. While other compounds of hemp and marijuana may have positive effects, most of the research is centered around CBD, so it is safer to stick to it.

Making your own face mask with CBD oil gives you the opportunity to find a concentration that works best for your skin – and reduces waste and cost! You can experiment with the quantity of each ingredient to suit your preferences, depending on the consistency you want to achieve. While it can be stored in the fridge for a little while, it is best to make this mask when you want to use it because it contains fresh ingredients and is not self-preserving.
